DEBBIE ROCHON WINS BEST ACTRESS FOR SLIME CITY MASSACRE
EERIE HORROR FILM FESTIVAL BEST ACTRESS DEBBIE ROCHON
Colour from the Dark
I LOVE HIM! But I'll get back to that!
One of my most favorite genres of film is HORROR!
H.P. Lovecraft distinguishes two primary varieties of HORROR in the "Introduction" to Supernatural Horror in Literature: 1) Physical Fear or the "mundanely gruesome" and 2) the true Supernatural Horror story or the "Weird Tale." The supernatural variety is occasionally termed "Dark Fantasy," since the laws of nature must be violated in some way, thus qualifying the story as "fantastic."
In translating H.P. Lovecraft's novel "The Colour Out Of Space" onto the screen as "Colour From The Dark" Ivan Zuccon created a "Fantastic Supernatural Horror Story" that H.P. Lovecraft would be proud of! After watching this film it is easily perceived that Ivan Zuccon loves his craft as much as H.P. Lovecraft loved his.

Getting back to I LOVE HIM
Two of my favorite humans on Earth were in LA filming yet another movie together RIPPED MEMORIES and they were both staying here at the house. DEBBIE ROCHON & JESSE KOZEL.

Debbie & Jesse had just finished filming Ripped Memories and it was time. Time for "Colour From The Dark". How fabulous that Debbie, Jesse and I were going to spend the evening watching "Colour From The Dark"! Together. My first time seeing the film. Jesse's first time and if my memory holds true I believe that it was also Debbie's first time! I was sooooo excited as I pushed play on the remote. There I sat with THE SCREAMQUEEN Of The DECADE getting ready to watch her just released film. CHILLS. And the movie hadn't even started. The movie started--normally I do not like anyone to talk while watching a film. But I was watching with Debbie Rochon. At first I had to pause and ask questions. After about 20 minutes into the film the talking stopped. It was toooo good. About half way into the film I said outloud not even realizing that Debbie & Jesse were there with me--I LOVE HIM! I was speaking about Debbie's co-star and husband in the movie Michael Segal. Right in the middle of a fabulous Horror film we were all cracking up--literally falling in the floor laughing! But I meant it. I did LOVE HIM. And I LOVE Debbie Rochon. I am proud to call her my friend. Or as I always call her Debbie Dearest! We finished the film and then laughed some more. Not at the film-IT IS FABULOUSLY HORRIFIC!-but at me and my I LOVE HIM.
Enjoy the trailers and the review posted from IMDb and then do yourself a favor and rent or buy the movie! I know you will LOVE This Film, LOVE Debbie Rochon and I think you just might say I LOVE HIM!

Plot Synopsis Written by Ivan Zuccon
Pietro and Lucia live on an isolated farm with Alice, Lucia's younger sister. Poor farmers, they live tilling the soil. Pietro is a good worker and a strong man who, unlike his three brothers, is not at war because of a deformed knee. Lucia is a beautiful and reserved woman dedicated to her family. Their life is peaceful and good, in spite of the hard work. One day, while drawing water from the well, Pietro and Alice accidentally free something from Earth's womb. A strange and alien color flashes underwater, at the well's bottom, then disappears. From that moment on, inexplicable events start happening all around the farm, and by night the surrounding vegetation glitters with a sinister glow. The color soon takes hold of the whole farm, and dwelling inside Pietro and his family's minds, it brings them into its sick world of pain, blood and death.
Review Of "COLOUR FROM THE DARK" on IMDb
Author: hocfocprod from United States
"Colour From the Dark" is an indie project from Italy, shot in English, based on the H.P. Lovecraft story, "The Colour Out of Space". Some of the details have been changed, but the movie does an excellent job of capturing the overall mood and atmosphere of Lovecraft's short.
The cinematography in this film is definitely a step above what you'd expect from low budget horror. Coupled with strong performances and effective visual F/X the movie manages to draw you into the lives of two families living in a small village during WWII. This scenario creates many opportunities for tension as the movie slowly builds to its second half.
By the middle of the movie the pace really picks up and things start to happen. Debbie Rochon gets to flex her acting muscles as her character goes through a major metamorphosis and the blood starts to spill.
All in all "Colour from the Dark" provides a visually stunning and entertaining 90 minutes of viewing.
